Participating local law enforcement and government agencies and pharmacies will accept unwanted Covered Drugs, including most prescription and over-the-counter medicines for disposal. The Community Resource Center (CRC) is a virtual supportive services initiative created and launched by Sheriff Tom Dart, in direct response to the increase in critical situations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, to connect individuals to resources in their communities. If contact cannot be made with the resident, attempts are made to make contact with individuals listed as emergency contacts. Our office also proactively checks on individuals, including seniors and youth, during extreme weather conditions and power outages. We have paired this with proactive outreach, contacting seniors and checking their wellness over-the-phone in order to connect them to resources or an officer who can provide them with food and supplies. When community members are concerned for the health and well-being of their loved ones, our staff performs wellness checks at their homes.
